Progress reports and the transference of artifacts


Students do not need to save all of their artifacts themselves in order to have them in their portfolio. Teachers can create a page for each student that can contain a number of artifacts including a journal, which can later be copied into the student's own portfolio for permanent keeping. All of the files associated with that page will come over to the student's portfolio. This allows the teacher to do some of the building for the student. In this recipe, we will look at how that works in the context of creating progress reports that demonstrate how a particular student meets the grade level standards.

In this recipe, we will create a page that contains a folder of a particular student's work, a journal for reporting on the student's progress which will include related documentation, media including a picture of the student, and finally a link to the student's own portfolio.
