The online protection will provide you with a great opportunity to place your production data in Azure, which means that you can securely provide and fully optimize an offsite replication for the company production data that represents the datacenter's hosted services.

There are some considerations that you must keep in mind:

The online protection is only available for primary DPM servers
The retention time for your production data in Azure is 99 years
You can protect Hyper-V, SQL, Client, SharePoint, Exchange, and File resources with the online protection
You must have a DPM disk pool attached to the DPM server
The restore process consists of two separate steps
Microsoft Azure Backup Agent will use the Windows Identity Foundation 3.5 and Microsoft .NET Framework 4 features
