This recipe will cover the installation of System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2. Note that this guide meets the minimum requirements to set up System Center Operations Manager with the purpose of monitoring and managing a BaaS, RaaS, or DRaaS service, based on System Center, Azure, and Windows Server.

This recipe will cover a very basic installation of System Center Operations Manager, so that you can have as a decent starting point.

Getting ready

The most important part before you start to install a System Center product is to have a plan for its purpose. When this plan and strategy are done, you can sit down and provide the prerequisites before you start the installation.

For System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2, the prerequisites for the management servers are:
