Basic WebSphere Application Server troubleshooting


In a Sametime 8.5.2 environment, the majority of all servers installed now run as applications under WAS, so that the logging and reporting behavior of each server as well as methods for troubleshooting are consistent for any application installed in this environment. The following is a description of how to review WAS servers and guidance on how to troubleshoot potential problems.

Reviewing server status

Reviewing the status of a server can be done from within the SSC (if all the servers are installed in the same cell) or from the operating system. We will first examine how to review status from the operating system.

In each server's profile directory on the file system there is a bin subdirectory that contains scripts for performing server functions.
