Adding web conferencing to the Meeting Center


When creating a new meeting, you now have the option to decide if the meeting will use audio or video for web conferencing. If you want to use web conferencing, then you have following three options:

  • Using the built-in Sametime audio and video computer-based conferencing with the Media Server

  • Third-party web conferencing services

  • TCSPI solutions

If you configure Sametime to use the built-in Sametime audio and video conferencing components, then a conference attendee cannot call into the meeting room using a telephone. When they join the meeting, they have to click on the Meeting Join Call icon. They will then select their computer to join the call, assuming that they have the necessary audio and video hardware pre-configured on their workstation.

If your company or organization uses a third party for conferencing services, this service can also be used with a Sametime web conference. With the third-party service, a telephone can be used to dial into...
