Installing a Sametime Meeting Server


The Sametime Meeting Server is only required if you want to use the new meeting center for meetings, otherwise this is an optional installation. Once the Meeting Server database is added to the SSC, you can continue to build a Deployment Plan to add your new Meeting Server. As you have done previously, create a new Deployment Plan and click on Next.

The Meeting Server is a WAS-based component so the installer needs to be told how to configure its WAS instance. Installing a server in its own cell gives it its own Deployment Manager and Management Interface outside of the SSC. In most cases, you would install your Meeting Servers as either primary nodes managed by the SSC or as a secondary node in a cluster with an existing primary node.
