Enabling sorting, column resizing, searching, and pagination in a table

In this section, we'll work with advanced functionalities of table components. We'll look at how to enable/disable sorting, along with column resizing. We'll also filter data from a table, along with data search and paginating the data.

Enabling/disabling sorting on the table

Sorting allows you to arrange the data into ascending or descending order to view the data in sorted order. You can enable or disable sorting on every column of a table. By default, sorting is enabled on all the columns of a table.

The following screenshot shows the up and down arrows on all the columns, which allow you to sort the data:

The sorting is controlled by the sortable property of the column. If the value of this property is enabled, then the sorting is on, and if the value of this property is disabled, then the sorting is off.
