Scale-Out Backup Repository – What’s New
The Scale-Out Backup Repository (SOBR) has gone through many additions, and with Veeam Backup & Replication v12, there are even more enhancements to make management more effortless. Users can now send backups directly to Object Storage with SOBR and have multiple buckets per SOBR tier, which we will explore later. In this chapter, we will look at a new technology called VeeaMover, which allows you to move backups from one extent to the other or even a new SOBR. VeeaMover also allows servers to move between jobs and repositories, which we will examine later. Lastly, we will look at the new SOBR Rebalance feature, which enables data between extents to balance space. We will also look at exporting data from all SOBR Tiers.
