Understanding sending backup data direct to Object Storage with SOBR

Within the Veeam Backup & Replication software, there are two types of repositories where you store your backups:

  • Standard repository: This can contain many different options, but the newest one, Object Storage (OBS - NEW), is the significant change to Veeam Backup & Replication v12, allowing direct-to-object storage for any of your jobs:

  • Scale-Out repository: This consists of standard repositories called Extents and can now contain the Object Storage standard repositories:
