An event can be defined as any occurrence that has significance for the management of the IT Infrastructure or the delivery of IT service and evaluation of the impact a deviation might cause to the services. Events are typically notifications created by an IT service, Configuration Item (CI), or monitoring tool.
The ServiceNow event management application helps to identify health issues across the data center on a single management console. Service analytics supports the event management and problem management for Root Cause Analysis (RCA). It is important to note that ServiceNow event management is not a monitoring tool. It collects events from other monitoring tools.
