Extending analytics reports using custom dimensions


In this recipe, you will learn how to create reports on the Experience Analytics dashboard. Based on the previous recipe, we will create two different reports to show browser visits and page views using different Experience Analytics chart controls.

Getting ready

For this recipe, make sure that you have already aggregated data in the Reporting database, which you learned in the previous recipe.

How to do it…

Now, it's time to create a reporting page on the Experience Analytics dashboard:

  1. Open Sitecore Rocks, expand the core database, duplicate the /sitecore/client/Applications/ExperienceAnalytics/Dashboard/Audience/Overview item with subitems, rename it Browsers, and remove all the children of Browsers/PageSettings. We copied the Overview item to copy its layout renderings.
