In the previous chapter, we discussed the importance of media distribution and how HTML5 has changed the web in providing both audio and video content natively in the browser. We specifically went over the HTML5 Video implementation, but we also discussed the MediaElement
specification, which covers common APIs that are used by both video and audio.
In this chapter, we go further into the specification and abstract it, making it reusable for audio and video. But before we get to that, we will discuss the server configuration with a simple example, and then move on to more advanced implementation with a dynamic audio player and customized controls.
