Adding multiple publishing targets for scalability or preproduction


Having multiple publishing targets becomes very important for geographic traffic distribution and redundancy. This provides better scalability, performance, and high uptime during deployments.

In this recipe, you will learn how to configure multiple publishing targets to serve live sites from multiple databases. You will also learn configuring preproduction (preview) publishing targets to evaluate a site by publishing items before they reach their final state of workflow before actually going live.

Getting ready

This recipe assumes that you already have a working environment with a single publishing target database.
