Data Domain

Objects within the Troux meta-model covering data and databases. The Data Domain contains the following objects:

  • Datastore

    A set of stored data, perceived as a unit, stored electronically and accessed by applications or basic software.

  • Database

    A physical datastore that serves one or more applications.

  • File

    A physical datastore that represents a single sequential file.

  • Database Column

    A column in a relational database.

  • Database Schema

    A named group of data.

  • Database Table

    A named set of rows in a database.

  • Database Type

    Classes of data in a schema.

  • Database View

    A logical representation of a named set of rows in a database.

Troux Data Collector

A software object within the Troux Metaverse platform designed to capture data from various sources and import the data into the Metaverse database.

Data Element Concept

Defined as a concept that can be represented in the form of a data element, described independently of any particular representation. The Data Element Concept is a key component of the Universal Data Element Framework (UDEF).

Data Flow Diagram

A diagram showing the relationship between business processes and the flow of information between processes and datastores.

Data Migration Strategy

A multi-step process for collecting, storing, and managing metadata within a company or agency. The strategy consists of the following steps: establish a credible core, automate maintenance, build from the core, and promote usage.

Troux Datamart

Troux supports extracting data from the primary Metaverse database into datamarts. Datamarts make report generation easier and support improved performance of the primary database by off-loading work from the main system.

Troux Datamart Generator

Datamarts are produced by the Datamart Generator within the Metaverse platform. The Datamart Generator makes the creation of datamarts simpler.

Document Domain

Objects within the Troux meta-model covering documents. The Document Domain contains the following objects:

  • Document

    A piece of paper, booklet, and so on, providing information, especially of an official or legal nature.

  • Online Document

    Any document that can be viewed via computer or other electronic device.

  • Document Class

    A collection or division of documents sharing a common characteristic, attribute, quality, or property.
