A collection of IT products and services available for use in projects at a company or agency. The service catalog is a central component in the application of ITIL best practices.

Solution Building Blocks

A collection or logical grouping of Architecture Building Blocks (ABBs) that work together forming a business solution.

Business Strategy

Service Portfolio Management Domain

Objects within the Troux meta-model covering the IT Services used by the company or agency. The service portfolio management domain contains the following objects:

  • Service Catalog

    (See Service Catalog)

  • Deployed Service-Level Agreement

    Represents the contract terms in effect between the service provider and the service consumer.

  • Service-Level Agreement Template

    Defines the standard contract terms for a service the IT organization will provide for a particular service offering.

  • Service Offering

    A specific service offered by the IT organization.

Strategy Domain

Objects within the Troux meta-model covering the business strategy of the company or agency. The Strategy Domain contains the following objects:

  • Goal

    A target towards which an endeavor is directed. Also can be used to document a business objective. Goals contain measures and delivery targets (milestones) that, once achieved, complete the goal.

  • Strategy

    A statement controlling what the business intends to do to achieve its goals.

  • Success Factor

    An element that contributes to the successful completion of a goal. Success Factors represent dependencies and assumptions that must be resolved to complete a goal and deliver the benefits of a strategy.

  • Vision

    A statement of the long-term direction of a company or agency. The vision sets the base for strategic planning within organizations.

  • Capability

    The specific ability of an organization to develop products and perform services resulting in sustained operations and customer satisfaction. Business capabilities are based on processes and assets of the company or agency.

  • Measure

    A specific value associated with the completion of a goal.

  • Key Performance Indicator (KPI)

    A type of measure that is critical to the success of a goal and delivery of benefits associated with a business strategy.
