Object Oriented Design (OOD)

A software design approach that supports modular development based on a set of commonly accepted integration standards.

Object Oriented Programming (OOP)

A style of writing software programs that supports software modularity using commonly accepted integration standards. The object oriented programming style hides details of software objects from users (consumers) of the functionality provided by the service provider (object).

The Object Management Group (OMG)

A technology vendor-independent consortium of IT professionals focused on the creation and promotion of open IT standards.

Organization Domain

Objects within the Troux meta-model covering the organization concept. The Organization Domain contains the following objects:

  • Organization

    A stable, organized unit of people and other resources united and constructed for a particular purpose.

  • Internal Organization

    An organization that is a parent of sibling or the organization whose infrastructure is being modelled within Troux Architect.

  • External Organization

    An organization that is not a parent or sibling of any internal organization.

  • Person

    An individual within an organization modelled within Troux Architect.

  • Position

    A formal post inside an organization held by one or more persons.

  • Role

    A particular set of responsibilities, privileges, or functions assigned to a person.

  • Privilege

    A particular authorization (authority) given to a person.

  • Communication

    A modelling type used within Troux Architect to represent information exchange between organizations.
