Federated Databases and Centralized Management

One of the three models for collecting and managing metadata across a company or agency. In this model, all metadata is stored in many databases and the control and monitoring of the data is performed by one centralized team of people.

In this model, metadata is stored in many databases and there is no centralized control team responsible for metadata integrity.

Financial Domain

Objects within the Troux meta-model covering financial information. The Financial Domain contains the following objects:

  • Charter

    A formal statement setting constraints such as time, finance, and other resources on a planned change. It can also be a transition directive associated with a transition strategy.

  • Contract

    A formal legal agreement between two parties that defines and regulates a product, service, or other arrangement.

  • Standard Cost

    A cost with a start date and end date. A standard cost will contain one or more standard cost elements as subcomponents.

  • Standard Cost Element

    Used to describe various components of a standard cost. Standard cost elements are always subcomponents of standard cost.
