Summary

In this chapter, we talked about the importance of a good data model. We shared with you the techniques that will help you design a performing and future-proof model.

Data modelling best practices are applicable in any business intelligence project; however, it is important to understand how each tool works. Any model will work in Qlik Sense, but we must use its scripting power to add or remove elements that will help us make the best of the powerful QIX engine.

I encourage you to transform your relational model into a fit-for-purpose star schema, which is the standard of excellence for reporting and analyzing data.

In the next chapter, we will show you the best practices for loading data into your Qlik Sense application, always taking into account what we described in this chapter.
