Summary

In this chapter, we learned how the integration between Dataverse and F&O environments has opened new opportunities for app development thanks to Power Apps. This integration allows users to use F&O Virtual tables in Dataverse as a foundation to create Power Apps that improve and extend the ERP functionality.

There are two main connectors to consider: the standard F&O connector and the Dataverse connector. While the F&O connector is limited to displaying records from the default company of the user accessing the Power App, the Dataverse connector can display data from all companies. The Dataverse connector also allows faster Patch operations. However, the choice between the two often comes down to specific project requirements, licensing considerations, and whether the F&O and Dataverse environments are linked.

A practical application of this integration is, for example, creating a sales order app. Through the use of OData actions in F&O data entities...
