Now, I would like to change direction and speak to packaged software providers and implementation partners regarding what they should do to promote and assist the customer in making this strategic investment in their success.
Packaged software providers and implementation partners should provide a complete enterprise business process model to their customers. The best models are a hybrid of conceptual business maps and software process models. In other words, the model should communicate the software components (products and features) that support a specific business activity. The model should also have a standard hierarchy that addresses the enterprise business process at multiple levels, as in the example shows below:
