Licensing for management servers

Hardware appliance models are sold in 5,10, 25, 50, 75, 150, 200, and 400 gateways under management capacities with corresponding amounts of compute, memory, and storage resources.

Open Server management server licenses do not have per-CPU license limitations and are only restricted by the size of the container, which reflects the maximum number of gateways they are capable of managing. At the time of writing, licenses for management servers on Open Server Management software are sold in the same gateways under management capacity increments, with a maximum base capacity of 150 gateways. This can be further expanded with additional 50-gateway licenses.

Security Management servers can be licensed as any of the following:

  • Management (including Log) servers
  • Dedicated Log servers
  • Dedicated SmartEvent servers
