License activation

All Check Point appliances, physical or virtual, after completing the First Time Configuration Wizard, have an automatically-activated 15-day trial license for every blade in the container(s) attached to the product. This license is sufficient for the following purposes:

  • Quickly testing a feature, configuration, or behavior
  • Performing the initial configuration of the Check Point infrastructure and Access Control policies
  • Assigning and activating either production or evaluation licenses

Your first action, in terms of licensing, is to generate a license associated with the IP address of your primary Security Management Server appliance. In ASSET /INFO | MY ACCOUNTS | Product Center, open the Product Center page. On that page, click on Smart-1 ### NGSM (for physical appliances) or Next Generation Security Management (for virtual appliances). This will be used as a primary management server.
