Parsing output from a SQL query output
If you do not already have a static dataset or are concerned that the data may update regularly and so you will not be able to use an array, you can use a SQL query to query the current state of the data in your old system and use the result as your dataset.
We are now going to uncover a new programming language used when querying data. Also, again think over how we send messages from system to system using a REST API.
SQL queries in action – Working with OData
OData, or the Open Data Protocol, is a commonly accepted, globally used standard language that is used to build RESTful APIs without having to worry about the technical details of setting up the API. OData lets the user worry about what they want, not how to send the message. For this reason, it is commonly used on queries, but is also found in the creation and use of functions where procedures are reusable (as is the case here in this logic app).
