Managing Search Center settings

The SharePoint Online Search Center is built on the SharePoint classic experience, similar to what we saw in earlier versions of SharePoint Server. By default, SharePoint Online has a Basic Search Center site collection configured, but you can also configure an Enterprise Search Center.

The core difference between Basic and Enterprise Search Centers is the availability of search verticals. Search verticals are special pages that are specifically crafted to show results that have been formatted for different content types. Enterprise Search comes preconfigured with verticals for People, Conversations, and Videos. For reference purposes, modern search also has verticals.

In the next few exercises, we'll configure Enterprise Search.
