In the previous chapter, we looked at testing and fine-tuning your data and reports. In this chapter, we return to the creation of reports and focus on how to print your reports. Although this is seen less often these days, printing financial reports remains important.
Most of the visuals you'll design in Power BI are not designed to be static prints. Power BI is an interactive business intelligence tool where fresh data is never far away, and visuals can be expanded, collapsed, and scrolled. But in the financial world, printed, static documents that portray a financial report based on a specific period are occasionally required. So, how do we get something not designed for printing static reports to print static reports?
The answer is Power BI Report Builder, a companion application to Power BI that, as you may have guessed by now, is the tool we use to build paginated, pixel-perfect reports.
