In this chapter, we continued to work on the semantic model from the previous chapter by building DAX measures and Power BI visuals to develop basic income statement and trial balance reports. You learned the difference between a calculated column and a measure and where to use both. Then, we added essential DAX measures into the semantic model to support the production of financial reports. Finally, we saw how to use some of the visual components of Power BI for financial reporting.
In the next chapter, we will help to expand your use of DAX by explaining some common DAX measures used in financial reporting.
