Financial Modeling and Reporting with Microsoft Power BI
By :
In this chapter, we've started our journey in financial modeling for Power BI by focusing on how the core entities are either created or located within your financial application. Learning some important terms along the way, we then explained how the basic structure of financial systems follows a similar pattern, so you'll be well prepared to apply it using your own financial data. We looked at totaling accounts, which you may need, and finished by considering the complexities of multi-company and foreign transactions. We have to say that the last two examples are complex, but you'll now have a basic idea of how to deal with them.
We now have a basic model to start working with. In the next chapter, we'll start to apply some of Power BI's core language, Data Analysis eXpressions (DAX).
