Source code control management differs from tool to tool, but in general, there are more similarities than differences. If you have more than one versioning extension installed, you'll see the different menus offered under the main Versioning menu. In all cases, the files are placed in a repository as the central point of truth. To work on and edit files, you need to first check them out. To make changes available for other users, the files should be checked back in. Where differences exist, these need to be reviewed and the files merged.
Of the tools used and supported by SQL Developer, Subversion is currently the more widely used, and so we will use Subversion for all of the examples that follow.
