In this chapter, we looked at the integration of SQL Developer and open source version control systems CVS and Subversion. All users who work with files on a regular basis should have some method of managing and maintaining them. Having a rigorous process in place together with an underlying version code tool, makes this task easier. SQL Developer provides integrated support, which means you can work easily with the version control system of your choice. It provides menu access to the repository and allows you to place files under version control, check out, edit, and check them back in. Without in-depth details on the full process of managing files under version control, this chapter provided an overview of how you can use SQL Developer as a client in this task.
