First and foremost, we learned that if we are good at Max/MSP, we are quite capable of building lots of things in Max for Live. We didn't go into building audio FX and spectacular synths since these are just straightforward Max/MSP tasks. Rather, we concentrated on how the Live API works, how to access Live, and how to control it. Although we haven't explored Max for Live a lot, it should be obvious that the possibilities are huge. At this point, switching around freely between detailed linear composition in Live or complex non-linear experiments in Max for Live should be easy. Any small utility you imagine inside Live should be at your fingertips, opening up the whole Ableton Live system.
In the next chapter, we are going to explore visualization and start to learn about TouchDesigner, which will enable us to easily realize our visual ideas and experiments.
