Learning about the input setting attributes

Each input settings option can contain the following five attributes, which are also called standard attributes:

  • As its name indicates, the type attribute allows us to set the type of the input setting, which can be either a basic type or a specialized type. The type attribute is mandatory.
  • The id attribute is another mandatory attribute that we will use later to access and read the setting value.
  • The label attribute allows us to set the label of the input settings inside the theme editor. The label attribute is mandatory.
  • The default value serves as a failsafe and allows us to set a default option for the input settings. However, it is not mandatory.
  • The final attribute, info, allows us to include an additional clarification regarding the input settings and is also not mandatory.
