Communicating with other mappers
As OpenStreetMap is a community-run project, you will need to communicate and collaborate with other mappers to get the most out of participating in the project. There are a number of ways you can do this, depending on your personal preferences and the type of information you're looking for (or want to offer).
Mailing lists
The
main method of communication between mappers is the mailing lists. There are a large number of mailing lists reflecting the diversity of the OpenStreetMap community and the activities they're interested in. The mailing lists are hosted at http://lists.openstreetmap.org/. You need to be subscribed to any OpenStreetMap mailing list to post a message, and you can subscribe to any list via the web interface, or by sending an e-mail to <listname>[email protected]
