Scribus 1.3.5: Beginner's Guide
Drawing shapes will be the most common action that you'll do in Scribus. Every other action will be setting the frame properties and frame content properties. Your frames will mostly be rectangles because traditionally a text stands in pages that are themselves rectangles. However, sometimes you might need or may be interested in getting some different results, especially if you're using pictures that can support other frame shapes more easily without losing readability.
In this chapter, we will spend some time on using some frame options, and will be able to get more custom shapes when needed. Specifically, we shall:
Recall basic options
Use shape distortion
Draw lines and curves
Modify shapes as we wish with the Points window
Mix and convert frames
Change the font size
Change margin width
Change background colour
