One of the most difficult yet fun creative aspects of 3D web design is to brainstorm for clever metaphors in order to navigate a 3D website. The phrase "think outside the box" does not come close. "Think outside the cube" is a little closer, or beyond that, think outside the fourth dimensional sphere. We are sailing into unchartered and undiscovered cyberspace.

It is a pretty safe bet that 100 percent of your audience would have never seen a 3D website. Even right now, you likely cannot envision what a 3D website would be. Perhaps an Internet site where instead of clicking on web pages, you walk through, navigating down hallways and looking for doors to open. You might also be thinking about QuickTime VR, used effectively and inexpensively...
