3D graphics for education just seems natural. What better way to learn than through experiential knowledge. And what better way to experience, aside from actually being on-location, than in a 3D environment. In fact, a 3D environment might be better than reality because virtual worlds can perform worst-case scenarios and test the extremes without any actual damage. We can simulate weak building structures, the effects of fire spreading, or navigation errors without a physical collapse, real destruction, or loss of life, such as training to avoid a plane crash.
Imagine not only learning a foreign language or reading a novel, but actually walking through a 3D virtual town in another country or a Shakespeare setting. We could also walk into microscopic spaces such as the heart or brain, or macroscopic spaces such as experiencing...
