In this chapter, we finally got to talking about audio. We introduced some very common techniques and thought about refining them and getting things done properly and efficiently (think about poly~
). By now, you should feel quite comfortable building synths that mix techniques such as FM, subtractive synthesis, and feature modulation, as well as using matrices to rout both audio and modulation signals where you need them.
We'll now move on to the next chapter, essentially doing the same but going into more detail, covering some FX, FFT, compression, and lots more. We'll seek to slowly move away from the big picture to look at some more concrete examples and (re)usable pieces of MSP code.
