In collaborative activities such as wikis or workshops (which we looked at in Chapter 5, What's new in Add an Activity), the Comments block provides a useful way of allowing students to continue a conversation while still keeping an eye on the task at hand.
Moodle messaging or a Moodle forum can do this too, of course, but the former is private and the latter is separate from the actual exercise students are working together on.
In the following example, Andy has added a block to his All you Need is Love workshop (that we saw in Chapter 5, What's new in Add an Activity). As the workshop progresses through its various stages, students are able to comment as shown in the following screenshot:
