Product overview – what is JIRA Agile?

One of the best features of JIRA is its ability to extend its functionality by installing separate add-ons. In this book, we have already seen some of the add-ons that provide additional functionalities; however, JIRA Agile is one add-on that deserves a dedicated chapter of its own. JIRA Agile provides great features to implement Agile techniques in your JIRA instance. Whether you are already familiar with the Agile concept or completely new to it, this add-on will make your Agile journey not only easy, but also wonderful.

Installing JIRA Agile

Just like any other add-on, JIRA Agile can be easily installed from the Atlassian marketplace. Perform these steps:

  1. Navigate to JIRA Administration | Add-ons | Find new add-ons (under ATLASSIAN MARKETPLACE).

  2. In the search box, enter JIRA Agile and click on the Enter key. The JIRA Agile add-on will appear in the following screenshot:
