JIRA with the Subversion plugin

Subversion is a popular and widely used version control software. JIRA has an add-on called JIRA Subversion plugin that can be used to integrate JIRA with SVN:

  1. Navigate to JIRA Administration | Add-ons | Find new add-ons (under ATLASSIAN MARKETPLACE), enter subversion in the search box, and click on the Enter key:

  2. The JIRA subversion plugin will appear in the list. Click on the Install button to continue.

  3. This add-on will then be downloaded and installed in your JIRA instance. Once installed, you will get a message confirming the installation:

  4. Click on the Close link to close the popup.

  5. Navigate to JIRA Administration | Add-ons | Subversion Repositories (under SOURCE CONTROL):

  6. Now, you will have the option to add SVN repositories in your JIRA instance. Click on the Add link. On the next screen, enter Display Name and Repository Root; if your SVN repository requires authentication, then enter username and password. Select Web Link as WebClient for SVN if your repository can be browsed through a browser. Finally, click on the Add button:

The SVN repository will be added in your instance and whenever some user includes the ticket ID such as KEY-1 in the SVN commit message, this specific file will be listed in the JIRA view issue operation under the Subversion tab.
