Attributes are text information associated to components, such as reference, price, provider, or material. When inserting a component with attributes, their values are requested, thus allowing to associate useful information. Attributes are normally defined before creating the component.
The MAKEBLOCKATTRIBUTE
command (alias ATT
, no icon, Draw | Block | Define Block Attributes) creates attributes. It displays a dialog box, as shown in the following screenshot:
In Display, Name is the attribute name, identifying it, Caption is the question requesting an attribute value, when inserting a component, and Default value the value that can will be used as default.
The Insertion point defines the attribute position, normally near entities. The Text settings area includes the text properties for the attribute name and values, namely TextStyle, Justification, Height and Rotation.
