Organizational structure overview

The organization structure in TMS is similar to the org structure in CRM but different from the SAP ECC system. The org unit in TMS is flexible and is modeled to structure individual staff assignment to org units. You can also trigger the workflow based on these staff assignments to the org model and assign the task to whoever is involved in this workflow. One of the first steps when setting up the system with the master data is setting up the organization model. The organization model should be set up based on the organization structure requirements for the project's needs.

Within ECC, the sales org is assigned to the company code. This assignment is used for invoicing and settlement. In TMS, company code is not needed to assign the sales org as there is no accounting settlement implication in SAP TMS.
