Resource master data

Resources in SAP APO are used in SNP, PP/DS, and TP/VS. Using the resource master data to check warehouse capacities with TP/VS is not in the scope of this book. Using the resource master data to check various capacities using SAP TMS for transportation planning will be covered in Chapter 4, Master Data in SAP TMS. The work center and associated capacities are replicated to SAP APO as resources. Resources in SAP APO have capacities and working times defined for machines, means of transport, and warehouses. There are four different types of resource categories: Production, Transportation, Warehouse, and Handling Unit. Figure 3.7 shows the resource master data with all the relevant tabs used for machines, personnel, means of transport, and warehouses:
