When concluding a drawing, it is wise to clean the drawing by removing all unused definitions, such as layers, linestyles, text styles, table styles, components, and so on.
The CLEAN
command (aliases CL
or PU
, Format main menu) allows the user to clean the drawing. It displays a dialog box including all definitions, divided by categories that can be removed. It is possible to make a full clean, or just remove selected definitions.
On the top, by selecting Show referenced entities, used definitions are displayed, instead of unused definitions. The Delete button removes selected definitions; the Delete All button removes all unused. With Delete dependent entities checked, inner definitions are also removed (for instance, components or layers defined only inside an unused component). With Confirm before delete checked, each removal requests confirmation on the command line.
