Proper configuration of a single file server is a great place to begin, but as your company grows, you are going to quickly outgrow the notion of one file server providing ownership over all documents. Creating another file server and manually sharing the load is easily done. You could slide some shares onto one server and other shares onto another. Thinking ahead to creating drive map policies for those drives, they begin to feel a little messy.
