Introducing premium themes and layouts


In the previous chapters, we had a look at how to use predefined or built-in PrimeFaces themes and then create custom themes using jQuery ThemeRoller according to the required skinning. Later, the PrimeFaces team thought about creating advanced themes apart from the regular ThemeRoller ones. The aristo theme looks more advanced than any other community theme available because it has been developed by using the Photoshop technology. Therefore, the PrimeFaces team decided to develop all the Elite (a new commercial business model) themes in Photoshop.

In these Elite themes' development, the PrimeFaces team initially introduced the MetroUI theme, which was inspired by the Windows 8 Metro user interface. This MetroUI theme is well-designed in Photoshop for a better look and feel, and it can be subscribed for both Elite and PRO user licenses. But there were no new Elite themes developed after this first theme.
