In this chapter, we are going to build on the work that we did in the previous chapter by using our custom theme and tweaking it according to our needs. This will expose some of the weaknesses of ThemeRoller-generated themes, and we'll learn how to compensate for them.
A very useful breakdown of the types of rules that jQuery UI defines is given at https://api.jqueryui.com/theming/css-framework/.
We'll cover the following topics in this chapter:
Creating a new JSF page
Using your unpackaged theme and applying it to your application
Changing the initial font and font size in your theme
Changing the foreground and background colors
Changing the highlighted, active, and selected CSS rules
Changing the rounding rules
Changing the shadow effects
Changing the menu's background
