In this chapter, we have seen how there are tools available within Moodle which enable students to work closely on tasks that enhance their understanding of historical questions and issues. They can use the wiki to collaborate on extended pieces of writing or their examination technique. There is scope to link wiki pages to outside repositories such as Flickr. This would enable images of medieval monasteries to accompany the stories and enhance the experience for both authors and readers. Students can use the database to help formulate responses to complex questions by searching for and sorting information that has been efficiently compiled.
In the next chapter, we will see how the lesson module can be used to capture a teacher's expertise and reinforce learning. We shall also see how students can be encouraged to develop a variety of useful skills through their use of Moodle's blog facility.
