Ext.NET provides a rich and vast set of UI controls that extends the already versatile set provided by Ext JS. Given the extensiveness of the set of controls, it won't be possible to cover them all in detail in this book. Instead, in this chapter we look at some of the more basic—but still powerful—controls, such as buttons, toolbars, menus, panels, and more. This will help to introduce Ext.NET syntax and conventions, showing how the server side and the client side (JavaScript) can integrate together. Subsequent chapters will explore more complex controls, such as various layout controls and more advanced controls like grids and trees. At the end of this chapter, you will also get a glimpse of some complex controls that we will not be able to cover in this book, just so you get an idea of the possibilities that Ext.NET offers.
By the end of this chapter you will understand:
The type of controls in Ext.NET
Common features of most controls
