Many other layouts


Ext.NET provides many other layouts and it would be beyond the scope of this book to describe them all. However, the previously mentioned layouts are among the most widely used ones and cover most of the techniques that the other layouts would also employ. But here is a brief list of other layouts:

  • Absolute Layout positions an item using specific x/y coordinates.

  • Anchor Layout anchors items across the four sides of its containers in various ways to achieve automatic stretching as the container is resized.

  • Card Layout stacks components on top of each other. It is the developer's responsibility to programmatically hide and show the right component. The TabPanel is an extension of this idea, hiding specific tabs as needed. You can also use a Card layout to create a wizard-style effect.

  • Column Layout supports multi-column formatted layouts.

  • Form Layout is a simple way to lay out form controls one on top of each other but in a way that will stretch to its container's width...
