This has been quite a long chapter, because it is one of the most crucial ones. Yet, we've only touched the surface of what Ext.NET can do with data. We looked at paging, filtering, sorting, and grouping. We saw how data can be obtained from the server. We also looked at how columns can be configured for display in different ways. Features and plugins that enhance the GridPanel experience were also introduced. Finally we looked at ways to edit data in-line and how updates can be saved back to the server.
Data processing is core to most web applications, and we have seen Ext.NET has covered this very well. Having got a glimpse of some form fields during grid editing, we will look at these, as well as forms and validation more generally, next.
